Summary

The intern will join the Bridge and Device team at Eagle Eye Networks and dive into a variety of hands-on technical projects that directly support our global cloud video surveillance platform. You’ll work on small Python automation tasks, write shell scripts to streamline day-to-day processes, and assist with network-related checks, logging, and monitoring that help keep our systems running efficiently. This role offers real experience working with internal databases and data workflows, contributing to ongoing improvements in infrastructure tools, and building a strong foundation in industry-standard development practices, from version control to collaborative engineering across teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing and maintaining a Python code base
• Help with basic database queries, data cleanup, and schema updates
• Support simple networking-related tasks
• Use Linux shell commands to automate routine tasks or troubleshoot issues
• Contribute to documentation and keep project notes organized
• Work with mentors to debug problems and implement improvements
• Participate in team meetings, demos, and code reviews

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Basic understanding of Python (projects, school assignments, or personal work)
• Basic understanding of databases (SQL basics preferred)
• Intro-level knowledge of networking concepts (IP, ports, protocols, APIs)
• Comfortable using Linux and running shell commands
• Familiarity with Git or source control
• Strong curiosity, ability to learn new tools, and willingness to ask questions
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
