Summary
Are you a seasoned SRE professional with a passion for leadership and strategic planning? Eagle Eye Networks is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to lead our SRE team in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of the world’s largest cloud video surveillance platform. As the SRE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the vision and execution of our infrastructure strategy, working closely with other department leaders to align technical initiatives with business goals.

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the SRE team, ensuring the adoption of best practices in automation, monitoring, and infrastructure as code (IaC). You will also be responsible for agile planning, collaborating with development, platform engineering, and network engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our systems. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the SRE team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute SRE strategies that align with company growth and business objectives, ensuring high availability and reliability of our cloud platform.
  • Drive agile planning processes, coordinating with development, platform engineering, and network engineering teams to ensure alignment of priorities and seamless execution of projects.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation initiatives, leveraging tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate closely with other department leaders to integrate SRE practices into broader company initiatives, ensuring that reliability and performance are prioritized in all technical decisions.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for system health, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Serve as an escalation point for critical incidents, guiding the team through troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on technical skills, career development, and leadership.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, advising the team and leadership on potential improvements and innovations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of tools and services to support SRE objectives.

Experience

Must have:

  • Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of managing and developing technical teams.
  • Strong expertise in agile methodologies and experience leading agile planning processes across multiple teams.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in large-scale, distributed systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead initiatives that align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead teams through complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and their application in cloud environments.
  • Experience with budget management and vendor negotiation in the context of SRE tools and services.
