Summary

Eagle Eye Networks is seeking an Engineering Manager for the firmware and device integration teams who will provide technical leadership in a lean, fast-paced, startup-like environment. You will be deeply engaged in the full development lifecycle discovering, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, observing, and improving our software and services. You will drive a lean, agile product development flow to deliver impactful solutions to customers' needs. You will own the success of projects while collaborating with multifunctional teams and partners as you solve exciting problems with real impact at global scale. You must be at ease working in a fast-paced environment with a startup mindset where the buck stops with you and your team and your collective performance drives the company's overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop goals, policies, and culture for FW/HW engineering teams. This includes:  
    • Evaluate software/firmware requirements and develop plans to implement necessary design improvements.
    • Encourage a culture of software automation, reusability, and engineering efficiency.
      Implement best practices in software architectural design and mentor teams in these practices.
  • Manage daily operations for the firmware, and HW device integration engineering teams, establishing priorities, workflow roadmaps, and key performance indicators. This includes: 
    • Define software design and development technical roadmap, creating strategies and procedures for software development
    • Review project plans for software development teams and oversee coordination of team tasks
    • Establish team-level key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the team’s output
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver against software development objectives including defining objectives and driving new architecture
    • Will supervise the work of software developers

Experience

  • 8+ years of increasing responsibility in sw/fw development including demonstrated experience leading teams of increasing scale
  • Experience successfully driving agile development teams with a history as a scrum master, product owner, or both
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of C, and C++ languages and experience with devices and firmware
  • Experience in the deployment of web-scale tools and patterns (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) 
  • Bonus points for language experience in Java, and Python
  • Strong inclination to solve complex problems in real time and develop new procedures as necessary
  • Excellent communication skills are mandatory as well as the ability to attract, mentor, and grow exceptional technical talent. ICs as well as people managers
  • Understanding and expertise in the security, surveillance, or IoT domains is a huge plus
